Paint or finish the frame to match the pegboard as needed. Now cut the first pegboard piece to 58 48 using a skill saw or a table saw. If you want to put a frame around the front of your pegboard use picture frame molding or 1 x 2 in. Pegboard is great for carrying weight over a large surface.

Using shorter wood screws this time i used 1 1 4 attach the pegboard to the 1 3 s. Boards cut to match the height and width of the pegboard and attach with screws. Hanging the support boards gives you a solid surface to attach the pegboard and also allows for some dead space behind it. Tack the pegboard and frame to the wall in the desired location.

Do not attach the wood screws using the pre drilled holes of the pegboard. Drive one 21 2 screw partway through the top frame at the center of the pegboard. Ask a friend to help you install the furring strips.
